John Mitchell

Our first generation of Mitchells in America from Nelson B. Mitchell’s lines settled in Nottingham West (now Hudson), New Hampshire. They of the 16 Ulster-Scot families who came from Ireland (Scottish decent).

John MITCHELL died in 1749 in Nottingham West, Hillsborough, NH. John signed a will on 22 Dec 1748 in Hudson, Hillsborough, NH. He was employed as Sheep Herdsman, Husandman.

John married Jannet *UNKNOWN. Jannet died in Jan 1787 in Francestown, Hillsborough, NH. Jannet joined religion Presbyterian on 7 Jul 1749 in Nottingham West, Hillsborough, NH.

    Any relation to a George Mitchell of Laconia, owned a famous hardware store. I live in his son’s home (JA (John) Mitchell) on Mitchell Place. His mother lived next door and likely gave him the land our home was built on. Recently found that he, his wife, and another Mitchell all died in 1930. Certainly they were old but curious if you had any contacts up here. Genuinely interested in restoring this home to the beauty and finding out about the people who built it
