Wallace E. Olson (1922- 2004)

WRENTHAM — Wallace E. Olson, 81, of Park Street, a woodworker and home builder, died Saturday in Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.  He was the husband of Frances (Nardi) Olson, to whom he had been married 60 years.

Born in Wrentham on Sept. 11, 1922, he was the son of the last Fritz and Carla (Edberg) Olson.  He was a longtime Wrentham resident, previously living in Norfolk.  He was educated in Wrentham schools.

Mr. Olson was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving the Pacific-Asiatic Theatre.

He had enjoyed woodworking, which drew him into his home building business.  Many Wrentham homes bear evidence to his woodworking skill, a passion, like carpentry, which kept him busy after retirement.

Mr. Olson had later been employed by the Foxboro Co. as a foreman in the machine shopl.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Richard Olson of Jacksonville, Ark.: towo brothers, Fritz Olson of Wrentham and Kenneth Olson of Franklin; a grandchild; and a great-grandchild.

He was the brother of the late Larz and Francis Olson, Eleanor Rowell, and Marion Tower.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Route 1A.  Burial will take place in Wrentham Centre Cemetery.
