
Maj./Col. Charles Frost ( ) – Notorious “Indian Killer” of Maine, his mother and sister having been taken into captivity and murdered. In 1658 he was the Commander-in-Chief of the Militia of Maine. After a long military history of protecting settlers from Indians he finally fell at their hands at Ambush Rock, Elliot, ME during King William’s War as he and some companions were returning from Sunday meeting at the Old Field’s meeting house, in consequece for his treacherous deeds against them.
